Artist Bio – Jean Haley

Jean Haley is a local fiber artist who grows color (dye plants), makes art, and teaches the joys of both in workshops and seminars. Her mission is low impact and zero waste fiber art and supplies.
Jean’s dye garden includes some of the oldest known plants for producing color-fast dyes, including Japanese indigo (blue), madder root (reds & oranges), weld (yellows), marigolds (yellow/gold), and black walnut (browns).
Jean creates one-of-a-kind hooked art using her naturally dyed wool and reclaimed fibers from t-shirts, skirts, and whatever else she thinks will pull a good loop! Her hooked wool hats have been called wearable art. She creates beautiful hand-dyed runners and table settings using locally grown plants. Bring a piece of Southern Indiana back home with you!
