Artist Bio – Ann Woods

After a 27 year career as an art teacher, I have become a visual artist who creates bas-relief images from paper. I cut, fold, manipulate, paint and quill paper in order to produce representations of flowers, birds, landscapes and nature. I love the flexibility of this medium and the way it allows me to work in color and form. I employ all types of papers from the ones I hand made myself and the ones I found in a small market in Thailand to the old water colors that my husband was preparing to throw away. I also use a lot of Color-Aid papers because of the variety and richness of tints available. It is my joy and pleasure to produce something beautiful.
